Edward Miguel Paredes Cruz...resides in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic...originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Seattle Mariners on May 12, 2005 and signed by scouts Patrick Guerrero and Bob Engle.

2017

Saw his first career big league action and made two stints with the Dodgers, going 1-0 with a 3.24 ERA (3 ER/8.1 IP) and striking out 11 batters without issuing a walk in 10 relief appearances...Tossed scoreless relief in nine of 10 appearances and posted a 0.96 WHIP...also held hitters to a .258 average, including limiting righties to a .222 mark...Had his contract selected from Triple-A Oklahoma City on July 24 and made his Major League debut that day, tossing a perfect inning of relief against the Twins as he also recorded his first big league win...according to STATS LLC., became just the seventh L.A. Dodger reliever to earn a victory out of the bullpen in his first Major League appearance, joining Gene Snyder (1959), Pete Richert (1962), Brian Holton (1985), Tim Belcher (1987), Josh Wall (2012), and Josh Ravin (2015)...Appeared in a combined 35 games with Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A OKC, going 2-3 with a 2.25 ERA (11 ER/44.0 IP) and collecting a save...struck out a combined 66 batters against 18 walks in 44.0 innings, while also limiting the opposition to a .230 average...Selected as a Texas League Mid-Season All-Star.
